Canadian | solo traveller | photographer | storyteller

Like many who traverse around the globe alone, photography and writing are my constant companions, though my main purpose for travel is the people I encounter along the way and the varying cultural and environmental landscapes that ceaselessly intrigue and inform me.

Through these experiences, including volunteering in Australia, Burma, Cambodia, New Zealand & Thailand, I have learned a great deal about life, nature, and humanity, and gained some insight on balancing the virtues and discrepancies I’ve witnessed.

With a Photojournalism Certificate from the New York Institute of Photography and roots in film and slide photography, my process is deliberate and restrained. Drawn to the raw, unexpected edges of a place, I follow instinct over itinerary.  Resisting the polished, comfortable version of travel keeps me alert to the shifting environments of unfamiliar places, often resulting in some confronting images, but always leaving me wanting to capture more.

These collections reflect my personal way of moving through the world on my own.

As Anthony Bourdain famously said ‘travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind’.
